St. Michael Cemetery – serving the Greater Boston community for over 100 years.

At the beginning of the 20th century, Boston's population of some 20,000 Italians had found themselves with nowhere to properly bury their dead. Envisioning a place that could serve the Italian community for generations to come, the pastors of four churches set out to acquire and develop the land they needed for their own cemetery. In 1905 they succeeded, and St. Michael Cemetery was formed.

Since its first interment in 1907, St. Michael Cemetery has evolved into a non-denominational organization, serving families of all faiths. But while our scope has broadened, the current Board of Trustees continues to carry out the original philosophy of providing well maintained burial grounds and respectful service to the Boston community.

Today, with its combination of gorgeous grounds and a city location easily accessible by MBTA, it has become the preferred cemetery for people from all walks of life in the northeast.

And like its founders, St. Michael Cemetery still looks to the future. A sound financial organization with a strong perpetual care endowment, we can ensure the future care of your loved ones, as well as ample cemetery property for future generations. With us, you can enjoy the peace of mind that those interred here will be properly and eternally cared for.

The Respectful Way.
